At the time of our previous post, with only 7 days remaining in our Kickstarter campaign, we had raised $52K. Over the final 7 days, we nearly doubled our funding! Dust ended with 1,149 backers pledging a total of $101,030. To give you an idea of how impact full the final days of the campaign were, 32% of all our backers joined Team Dust in the final 3 days.
There is a cool site called Kicktraq where you can see a detailed breakdown of funding trends for any Kickstarter project. We registered our project late and unfortunately our data is not complete. But it’s pretty interesting to see how things progressed.
We are reviewing the post production scheduled and plan to begin working on the film in early June. Once post production is in full swing, this page will be switched over to private access for Backers only and we’ll be posting updates at least twice a month. If you were unable to donate through Kickstarter, we have kept the PayPal option available on the Dust website. Everyone who ha contributes via PayPal will also have access to the elusive updates.
Thank you again to everyone who supported us throughout the Kickstarter campaign and we are looking forward to finishing Dust later this year!
We are down to our final week for our Kickstarter campaign! Thanks to all of our backers, we are currently 65% funded! However, Kickstarter is an “All or Nothing” platform so if we don’t meet our goal by May 5th, we will receive zero funding. We need everyone’s support now more than every.
We have posted several videos updates this past week. The first gave our backers some insight about the Ember Lab team. Our most recent update, The Art of Dust, featured a conversation with our Art Director, Eoin Colgan. Eoin is currently a Senior Character Artist at Riot games. In the video he describes the process of developing the film’s unique characters and creatures. Next week we’ll be releasing our final video update for the campaign focusing on the film’s plot and our two main characters.
We just posted an updated on Kickstarter and it seems to have convinced quite a few more people to back the project. We’re are currently 26% funded with about 15 new backers in the past 4 hours. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going with new updates this week.
Check out our video update, “Creating Irezumi’s Workshop.” It highlights our set development process and showcase the amazing work our team did to create the location. Also were really happy with the Dust trading cards we produced. They look great and are perfect for sharing the project.
Just about one week into our Kickstarter campaign and things are off to a great start. As of this morning (4/2/2012) we have raised 15,775 from 141 backers. That’s 19% of our goal with 33 days left to go. Thanks everyone for your great support; we have received a ton of positive feedback so far. The trailer for Dust on Vimeo has been viewed nearly 6,000 times.
Last week we were featured on Kotaku, Gizmodo UK, and Pokupo. We still have a long way to go to reach our goal and we need your help getting the word out. Please tweet us, post Facebook message and reach out to any blogs/media sites who you think might be interested in the project.
We are going to work hard this week to post an update on the Kicksarter page. We’ll also be releasing more concept art from the film on our Facebook page so stayed tuned for new content.
Welcome to the official Dust Blog! Today we launched our Kickstarter campaign and we have until May 5th 2012 to reach our funding goal. The development of Dust has been an amazing experience for our team and we’re excited to finally start sharing it with the world. The funds we hope to raise will give us the opportunity to focus on Dust full time and complete the film this year.
We’ll be updating this blog regularly throughout the campaign as we add new content to the Dust web site and the film’s Facebook page. Also, we will be keeping you up to date on the Kickstarter project as it develops.
